WALK FOR LIFE

WALK-A-THON 2009

             Walk-a-thon 2009 saw a first-time event. 

Dustin Jenkins of Elite Feet worked in conjunction with Walk-a-thon Chair, Dan Armstrong

to present a 5K run as part of this year’s  activities. 

It was thrilling to see twenty two runners take off at the sound of the shotgun to run for life. 

Across the street, on the northeast corner of the Old Lapeer Courthouse property,

seventy three walkers registered for the 3.5 or 1.6 mile walk through lovely Lapeer and Rowden Park. 

People from twenty six churches as well as PRC friends participated in the event.

Walkers and runners enjoyed refreshments of hot dogs, chips and cider after their walk/run.

The Walk-a-thon was sponsored by twenty one business sponsors.

When we were going through hard times, the Pregnancy Resource Center

made it easier for us to get the things we needed for our baby. 

We like the "Earn while You Learn" (EWL) program

which made it easy to earn points toward these items. 

We learned a lot of good things through EWL.
